The 4th annual Newberg's Got Talent show will be at the festival again this year. Calling all kids (up to 18 years of age)! July 26, 2013 at 2:20 p.m. Pre-registration required by July 22. Dog Costume Contest
Thursday, July 25
Bring your dog (dressed up or not) to the Renne tennis court for the dog costume contest Thursday, July 25. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever! Prizes given for best costume small, medium and large dog —and 3 new categories: Longest Tail, Looks Most Like Owner (not dressed up), and Best Representation of the Festival Theme (the American Dream). You can enter the contest at the event—no need to pre-register. Gather information on local pet products and services. Doors open at 6PM. Contest begins at 7PM. Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Swap Meet
The 2013 edition of the Antique Fire Apparatus Show and Swap Meet will be held at the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival on Sunday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, more than 30 pieces of antique apparatus are expected to be on display ... and pumping ... from as far south as Roseburg, OR, and as far north as Olympia, WA. Pumping demonstrations, including an 1899 steamer from San Francisco, will continue all day. A bucket brigade competitition will begin at 2 p.m. with the queen and her court. This year a fire equipment only swap meet will be available to buy and sell old firefighting gear. Swap meet entry fee for sellers is $10 for the day (FREE for buyers!) to help support the event. To add your antique apparatus to the show, or to sell your fire equipment items at the swap meet, contact Matt Simek, coordinator, for an invitation and the rules. And whether you have something to show or sell, please come out anyway to see this remarkable collection of antique fire vehicles ... young children and cameras are always welcome!
Carnival wrist bands will be available for purchase on July 1st.
They will be available through 5pm Wednesday, July 23. The cost will be $20.00 each including 2 tickets for the midway. The midway tickets will ONLY be available on pre-sales.
